Sandy’s yoga journey began years before she first stepped onto a mat, as like many she contemplated for a long time what seemed to be the mystery behind this ancient practice. In 2002, Sandy took her first private lesson in the vinyasa style. For the next six years, yoga became a great source of inspiration and balance to her hectic professional work life in corporate communications, and helped to provide insight as she transitioned to operating her own business & marketing communications firm. Sandy’s practice evolved to include appreciation and love of all the beauty that is yoga.
Sandy earned her RYT 200 and RYT 500 certifications at blue lotus in Raleigh, NC., and has been teaching in the Vinyasa style since 2009. After becoming certified in Yin Yoga in 2013, she began to teach this softer practice of yoga, encouraging students to find balance and benefit from the silence and stillness, space and clarity that Yin Yoga offers. Sandy is also trained in the therapeutic benefits of yoga, and enjoys teaching Yin and Restorative yoga, as well as Vinyasa. She guides her students to explore the breath and to take their yoga beyond the mat – to how they move and experience the world physically, emotionally and spiritually.
